Feed the children

Feed The Children was founded in 1979 with the mission of providing hope and resources for those without life’s essentials. Since then, we’ve grown into one of the largest international charities based in the United States. Feed The Children is accredited by the BBB Wise Giving Alliance and has a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator.

We hold to Christian values, and place great importance on integrity, resourcefulness, stewardship, and transparency. Our employees are dedicated to making Feed The Children a worthy recipient of donations and putting them to the most efficient use possible.

Everything we do at Feed The Children — here in the U.S., or in the 23 countries we serve around the world — is mindful of our vision that no child or family goes to bed hungry. You’ll find more specific facts and figures about our work below. If you have any questions, you can email ftc@feedthechildren.org or visit our CONTACT US page for additional information.

U.S. programs - food and necessities

Here in the U.S., we partner with nearly 1,200 agencies — including food pantries, churches, and soup kitchens — to distribute meals and necessities to more than 10 million people nationwide. In 2013, Feed The Children’s domestic food distribution program provided more than98 million pounds of food and essentials to over 10 million individuals — both children and families — who were at risk of running out of food.

In addition, we helped more than 150,000 families through our Americans Feeding Americans caravan, which provides each family a box of food, a box of essentials, and gifts from Avon. Feed The Children has an extensive transportation fleet that picks up in-kind contributions from corporate warehouses and brings them to our Feed The Children regional distribution centers.
